A unique cultural and leisure experience
Since its inauguration in 1984, the Strawberry Train offers its visitors, on spring and autumn weekends, a journey through time and space, commemorating the route of the first railway in the Community of Madrid, built in the year 1851 by order of Isabella II to link the capital with the Royal Palace of Aranjuez.
The Strawberry Train is a unique cultural and leisure experience,
with a journey on a historical train made up of carriages with a
century of history, and a magnificent day in Aranjuez, a city
declared a World Heritage Cultural Landscape by UNESCO, where
you can enjoy its many attractions.
This season marks forty years of uninterrupted travel
between Madrid and Aranjuez, making it the elder statesman of
this type of train in Spain. During all this time, the
historical Strawberry Train has transported thousands of
travelers offering a unique experience that combines leisure and
culture.
Its implementation is a joint initiative of the Spanish Railways
Foundation, the Community of Madrid, the City Council of
Aranjuez and the National Heritage.
